Antique toys are such impressive display pieces for antique dolls. It brings them to life and should be somewhat period to the doll to make an accurate historical statement. This is a late 19th or early 20th century German toy that when shaken, gives the sound of soft chimes similiar to that of a xylophone. The lithography is beautiful children playing and a pig playing an instrument. The bottom is stamped "Germany." The handle is made of wood. The toy is very light weight making it easy to place in a doll's hand. There are a few pieces of lithographed covering that have peeled away but nothing that interferes with the appearance of this very unique German toy.
