22 In. Jules Steiner Bebe with Outstanding Early Pressed Bisque

Detailed Description
This is a rariety in itself--an original label in tact inside this bebe's head! It is completely legible, written in French of course. The provenance of a doll certainly adds to the value, both monetary and historical. Jules Steiner must have been very proud of this spectacular bebe and the C Steiner has become one of the favorites of finer bebe collectors. The pressed bisque is practically flawless in texture and purity and all of her facial painting is what I consider perfection. She has mauve shadowing above her eyes and shadowed and outlined lips. Her original jointed Steiner body has straight wrists and stubby fingers, all in excellent condition with minimal wear at the joints. She is dressed in a newer French couture two-piece outfit and ruched lace-trimmed bonnet, all made of vintage fabrics. The antique leather slippers have a large silk pom-pom on the toes. The original cardboard pate is covered by what I believe is the original hand-tied human hair wig that hangs in curls to her waist. This bebe should definitely be a consideration for the Steiner lover.
