The previous owner (now deceased) took a First Place Ribbon at a national convention with this doll. She is unmarked. If I had to guess as to her maker, I would say Kestner. A hand-written tag on her wrist says she is an "unmarked Bru" but I believe she is German made to compete with the French market. She has a solid dome head and a stringing hole through which her stringing is tied over a piece of metal. Her glass eyes are set stationary and she has French style feathered brows. Her mouth is much like the Circle Dot with open/closed lips and a space between them. Her eight ball French type straight wrist body is in excellent original condition except for a small reglued strip at the neck line. The original clothing consists of a beautiful tucked French style dress with rows of delicate lace, lacy trimmed slip and pantaloons. Her corset holds up her long stripped stockings. She has pale blue leather ankle boots with tiny rosettes. I believe her pink bonnet was added later but it looks terrific. Except for a slight rub on the tip of her nose and one above her protruding upper lip, her condition is excellent.
