This wonderful item might be of interest to both a Candy Container Collector and a French Fashion Collector. It is truly a lovely piece, having won a First Place ribbon, and is 100% original. The 13 in. closed mouth Jumeau fashion, head marked 2/0, stands on top of a decorated bon-bon or candy box along with her glass eyed goose. She is dressed in a maiden costume, indicative of a region of France (?), and she has beautiful blue glass eyes, closed mouth and feathered brows. She wears original tiny strung glass bead earrings. Her right sleeve has a tatter on the sleeve but otherwise, her wool clothing is in excellent condition and contains factory stiffness. Her original wig and pate are in tact under her head piece. Her upper arms are wired and she has lower wooden arms. I believe her torso is paper mache and her lower body is cloth stuffed. She is in tact as she came from the factory and I chose not to undress her. I did remove her cork pate with attached mohair wig to check her bisque head and it is without damage or repair. Her pet goose has a metal beak and feet and is hard-stuffed and covered in fleece. Her goose wears a wire beaded collar around his neck. The inside of the candy box has hand-painted flowers. This is a fabulous Jumeau fashion candy box.
