German Character Estate Doll, Completely Original

Doll 1787 - Factory Crisp and Superb Mold #101 "Marie" by K*R

We were recently fortunate enough to be able to purchase "sister" dolls from an estate. The dolls are totally original and some of the best examples I have seen. They are the Mold #101 "Marie" from the Art Series by Kammer & Reinhardt, circa 1910. Both dolls have that "crisp factory look" and factory stiffness in their clothing which I have not washed or ironed so the new owner can enjoy the look of originality. This one is the larger 13 inch sister. Her coiled braided mohair wig is still in tact. We added her little hair bows, but everything else about her is as she came from the factory. Her fully jointed pink tone composition body shows a few age lines on the legs and a chipped thumb tip, but her original stringing is present. The coral shaded "pouty" lips are closed and have a puffiness that is so desirable in this model. The artist who painted her features must have been on K*R's front line! Her two-pc. dress is full of lace trim and inserts and has the separate bib or apron that is so German in style. Her underclothes have matching border lace. Unfortunately, she lost one of her lace up shoes. This doll has the originality and quality that will enhance a German character doll collection. Now is the time to buy German character dolls--before they rise in price!
