Doll 1778 - Rare Large Size "Wide Awake" Googly

This is quite a rariety--an 8-1/2 inch all bisque "Wide Awake Doll." She is marked on her back with "Wide Awake Doll / Registered / Germany / 20." Both arms are original to the body and they also have the size number 20. She has painted side-glancing "googly" eyes and a big smile showing two upper painted teeth inside her open/closed mouth. She is jointed at the shoulders only and her fat legs are molded together down to her molded and painted shoes and socks. She has three tufts of molded blonde hair, one on top of her head and one over each ear. Her eyes are black outlined above her eyes and you see a white dot highlighting the blue irises. There is much detail in the modeling of this doll, especially in the facial features and wide open hands with finger delineation and palm wrinkles. Her tucked and lacy pink cotton dress hides her cute body unless she decides to show you her very fat tummy!
