Doll 1419 - Rare Glass-Eye "Gretchen" 114 Pouty


You all know "Gretchen" the "pouty" by Kammer & Reinhardt. This one is exceptional and she has the rare glass sleep eyes. She was handed to me by a member of the original family unstrung lying in a shoe box with her original clothes, socks and shoes. It is so seldom you find an antique doll in this "attic" condition and in such good shape. Her adorable red mohair wig is in the loop braids over her ears. She has superior quality bisque with no rubs or blemishes on her softly tinted cheeks. The modeling is the best with deep creases above her chin, below her bottom lip and around the nose. Other than a very light 1/2 inch inherent factory firing line at the back rim, her bisque is flawless and without even one wig pull. Her pink tint body has the original factory finish but we did have one pinkie tip professionally repaired. Her red checked dress and white pin-tucked and eyelet trimmed pinafore are the perfect combination for this adorable closed mouth pouty character. She inherited the vintage straw hat that completes her ensemble. This is a doll you will want to hug when you see her!
