If you have ever owned a large lady doll and have tried to find antique clothing for her, you know how difficult it is! This wool challis two piece ensemble appears to be all hand stitched and very well made. The bodice is lined. The back opening of the bodice has hooks and eyes as well as the waist of the skirt. The skirt band has the same bands of black narrow cotton velvet ribbon trim. This would be perfect for a lady 1159 by Simon Halbig, Gibson Girl by Kestner or the Kestner 162 lady. If you are fortunate to own an AM 300 or 400 in a large size, this dress would be great. A bit of alterations might be necessary but there is room at the bottom since the skirt trim is high. This was made to be floor length but it could be shortened. I see no stains or spotting. There are a few moth bites. A few of the hooks or eyes are missing. Measurements: skirt length: 19 inches; skirt waist: 10 inches around; top from shoulder to waist: 6 inches (not counting band that is 1/2 in.); sleeve length: 8-3/4 inches counting wrist band; neck opening (6 inches around); 6-1/4 inch shoulder seam to shoulder seam across back; top waist around 10 inches.
